What’s unique about Adventure Challenges? Why should I choose you?
We create our events with you in mind. Our team has physically driven and assessed every mile of the journey to ensure the safest and best possible route for your challenge, so rest assured that you are in the safest hands.

How fit do I need to be?

Adventure Challenges attract people of all levels of experience and fitness, all ages and backgrounds. This trip is designed to be a training trip however, you will be in the saddle for upward of 70 miles a day for three consecutive days. So, you should ensure, as a minimum that you are comfortable riding a 60-70 mile day and have achieved this regularly before you leave for the trip. No route is completely flat so you should include some hilly rides in your training. We design our challenges so that everyone can go at their own pace; this is not a race. For further information regarding how we rate our challenges click here

Who will be there to support me during the event?

Experienced Adventure Challenges Crew leads your trip. Crew members are selected for their experience in cycling events around the world, their friendliness and approachability, sense of humour, and ability to safely and effectively deal with any situation that arises. Our crew leaders are also trained in outdoor First Aid. You are in very safe hands with the Adventure Challenges Crew.
The number of crew and support vehicles looking after you will depend on the final size of your group, but the team will be looking after every aspect of your trip, whether that’s transporting your luggage, sorting out any mechanical problems or giving you a lift in our back-up vehicle – our “Love bus.” At Adventure Challenges, we pride ourselves on our high crew to cyclist ratio and believe it leads to greater trip enjoyment and excellent trip safety.

Will I be safe?

Your safety, and that of the rest of the group, is our highest priority. Our trips are designed and planned with safety in mind. Your crew will be equipped with emergency mobile phones, First Aid kits and other safety apparatus wherever necessary. They always have access to our 24-hour emergency back-up in the UK. Our leaders are responsible for safety on the trip and will make any changes to the itinerary they deem necessary should local conditions dictate.

Pre-trip administration – such as compulsory medical questionnaires and travel insurance – is all done with your safety in mind.

What happens to my luggage each day?

Our support vehicles are with the group all of the time. All luggage and spares are carried in vehicles as we travel to each destination. Each day, when you arrive at our hotels, you will hand over your bike for safe overnight keeping and collect your luggage. Each morning, you will hand over your luggage and collect your bike. Space is limited and hard- sided luggage is not suitable, so it is essential that your kit is packed in a soft sailing bag, rucksack or expedition kit-bag, preferably weighing no more than 15kg.

What insurance will I require?

It is a requirement of entry that you have adequate insurance to cover your participation on the event. We will require a copy of valid insurance before travel. We also recommend that you apply for a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), as the NHS will cover most medical care when travelling in Europe. You can apply for an EHIC at your local post office or online.

Are flights and transfers to and from destination included?

No, we do not arrange any flights for this challenge, enabling you to take advantage of the many competitive fares between Spain and different UK cities.
Adventure Challenges will of course provide advice on best travel options and further accommodation requirements should you require.

Will I receive further information?

Yes, a full detailed information pack will be issued following registration and before you set off for your event. In addition, pre-event support is always available, simply email us at with your questions.

Day Two – Seville to Jerez de la Frontera
We begin our event from the bustling town of Seville, heading south through the pretty Spanish towns and villages until we reach our first water stop near Los Palacios y Villafranca. Continuing south we take in Las Cabezas de San Juan, Lebrija and El Cuervo de Sevilla before finishing in one of the noblest towns in Cádiz, Jerez. Known for its wines, horses, and flamenco dancing, Jerez, famous for its brandy and sherry production, is a charming old town that dates back to the Moorish times with beautiful palm-lined squares. A great place to stop for some well-earned rest!

Day Three – Jerez de la Frontera to Ronda
After breakfast, we will continue our ride heading east to the Sierra de Grazalema, one of Spain’s most ecologically outstanding areas. The National park is famous for its spectacularly rugged limestone landscape of cliffs, gullies, caves, and gorges. You’ll also encounter Andalucia’s famous ‘Pueblos Blancos’ or ‘White Villages’. On leaving the National Park, you will begin a final climb into Ronda, a breathtakingly picturesque town at the head of the 100m deep El Tajo canyon, where you will stay for the night. Ronda is a stunning place to see, and of course, with plenty of restaurants for you to experience.

Day Four – Ronda to Malaga
Riding out from Ronda this morning, we continue eastbound, entering traditional Spanish countryside. Riding past rural fincas and olive groves as we head to El Burgo, a beautiful village perched on the most eastern tip of Sierra de Grazalema. Here, we will have our first drinks stop of the day. Continuing on, we head towards the picturesque mountain village of Alozaina before taking an easterly direction towards Malaga and the culmination of our ride. Our fantastic finish at the ancient amphitheatre, built in the 1st century by Emperor Caesar Augustus, is a truly fitting end to our adventure, where cold beers and celebrations will be many!
